Exceptional Children

Learning Center

The Learning Center at Stono Park Elementary has 2 teachers and a paraprofessional.  The students are served according to their individual needs.  These areas may include reading, math, writing, and social-emotional development.

Hi I’m Kim Hall.  I’m so excited to be joining the Stono Park Elementary team as a Special Education teacher! This will be my ninth year teaching Special Education and my first year teaching in Charleston.  I moved to Summerville  with my family, in June.

I earned my Master’s degree in Special Education from the University of Saint Joseph in West Hartford, CT.  For the past eight school years, I have worked with students in PreK-3 through 8th grade.  My area of specialty is providing interventions for struggling readers.  I am trained in multiple programs (including SPIRE, Wilson, Orton-Gillihgham and Lively Letters) that address various reading challenges.

Outside of the classroom,  I enjoy refinishing and reinventing old furniture and household items,  gardening, cooking, and going to the beach!

Hello! My name is Ellie Amey, and I am excited to join Stono Park Elementary. I
am a 2010 graduate from Clemson University, and have been teaching for 9
years, all previously in Dorchester District 2. I grew up in Irmo, South Carolina,
and moved to Charleston in 2010. In November of 2016 I married my husband,
Brian, and 6 months ago we welcomed the newest, and first addition to our
family, our baby girl, Lillie. Outside of teaching I enjoy spending time with Lillie
and my husband, visiting my family in Asheville, NC, relaxing at the beach,
spending time with my friends and cheering on the Clemson Tigers! I am thrilled
to be here and cannot wait to see what this school year brings!
